Launching in 2022!

The city of Farmington Hills now owns the former Harrison High School building and grounds and is forging ahead with plans to turn it into a $20 million recreation and performing arts center. The city is in the final stages of working with Integrated Design Solutions, an architectural firm in Troy, to convert the 245,000 square feet of Harrison into a facility that officials are “super excited” about, Schnackel said. Plans include converting a standard high school pool into a “destination” aquatic center that will include a slide, lazy river, climbing wall, zipline and zero depth entry, she said. The new recreation center would also include a fitness area and upgrades to the existing auditorium for use of the city’s popular fine arts programs. The auditorium holds up to 700 people.
