High Score Interview: Aquinas Esports Player Jon “Itsjon” Schneck

Welcome to the High Score Esports College Players Interview Series!

Each week, we’ll be talking with, as the name may have tipped you off to, collegiate esports players. We’re starting off with the players of Aquinas College, and want to send a special thanks to Aquinas Esports Head Coach Adam Antor for giving us access to the teams.

Now let’s introduce you to Jon “Itsjon” Schneck, who plays Top position for the Aquinas League of Legends team…

What first got you into games?
When I was about 6 years old

What drew you to League of Legends?
Some people in my Language Arts class in middle school were talking about the game so I decided to check it out.

Which character do you play? What is it about them that you like?
Kled. I like how he is very insane and likes to go in and kill everyone (even his teammates).

What do you see as your main goal as Top?
To get better at my laning phase and get even more solo kills in lane.

What do you see as your team’s main advantage?
Our early aggression towards the mid lane with the jungle mid duo.

Coming in as a Freshman and joining a new esports program, what excites you the most about Aquinas?
How the program will evolve over the years.

When you’re not practicing League or studying, what games do you play?
Overwatch and even more League.
