High Score Interview: Aquinas Esports Player James “DruidisFluid#1637” Chamberlain

Welcome to the High Score Esports College Players Interview Series!

Each week, we’ll be talking with, as the name may have tipped you off to, collegiate esports players. We’re starting off with the players of Aquinas College, and want to send a special thanks to Aquinas Esports Head Coach Adam Antor for giving us access to the players.

Now let’s introduce you to James “DruidisFluid#1637” Chamberlain, who takes on the Tank role for the Aquinas Overwatch team…

What first got you into games?
The thing that got me into games was Halo then it was all downhill playing Xbox was my go-to thing to just relax

What drew you to Overwatch?
The thing that drew me to Overwatch was that it was different compared to the rest of the games I played. There was always something to learn and it was always changing, which is what I like, I like to learn.

Which character do you play? Why?
I play Orisa. I play her because she is really good at creating situations that allow my team to dive in and eliminate our opponents, giving us the upper hand

What do you see as your main goal as Tank?
My main goal as the tank is to take damage for my team so they don’t die, and to open up the field for my team to take out enemies.

What do you see as your team’s main advantage?
We have good DPS players who can take advantage of any situation and put the fight in our control.

You’re studying physical therapy. Do you see a connection between physical therapy and esports?

Physical therapy has many components just like esports. You must learn and analyze a lot of certain things.

When you’re not practicing Overwatch or studying, what games do you play?
I play World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
